TEENAGERS ROBBED AT HOOPS COURT
Three Teens Looking To Buy Weed Get A Beatdown Instead.
Three Stafford County teenagers looking to buy marijuana got robbed
and brutally beaten instead, police said.
Stafford sheriff's spokesman Bill Kennedy said deputies went to a
home on Birch Lane, not far from the Sheriff's Office, after a
resident reported that a shirtless boy was outside covered in blood.
The teenager had a large laceration over one of his eyes.
The boy said he and two of his friends, all high school students,
had gone to the basketball courts in Stafford Oaks planning to buy marijuana.
Police later found the other two victims and got further information
about the incident, Kennedy said.
They had been there about 30 seconds when seven or eight young men
rushed around the corner and attacked them.
Kennedy said the three victims were knocked down and kicked and
punched for two to three minutes. During the beating, one of the
suspects pulled out a gun and demanded money.
The victims complied, and were eventually allowed to get up and run away.
The first victim said told police that the gash over his eye was the
result of being pistol-whipped.
The suspects were described as black males wearing black clothing
and blue bandannas over their faces.
The victims said they didn't recognize any of their attackers, Kennedy said.
Among the charges the attackers will be facing if caught are
robbery, malicious wounding, maiming by mob and using a firearm in
the commission of a felony.
A green Cadillac Deville seen earlier in the evening is believed to
have been associated with the suspects, Kennedy said.
Anyone with information about the incident is asked to call the
Sheriff's Office at 658-4400 or Crime Solvers at 659-2020.
