TEEN DRUG USE
INCREASED IN U.S.: The percentage of American high school students who
use cocaine or marijuana rose significantly during the 1990s. The U.S.
Centres for Disease Control and Prevention found that half of the
teenagers surveyed had at least one drink of alcohol, 35 per cent had
smoked cigarettes, 27 per cent had smoked marijuana and 4 per cent
tried cocaine in the month before the survey.
