`DRUG CRAZED' SUSPECTS ADMIT KILLING IRISHMEN

Two Dutchmen have admitted brutally killing three Irishmen in the victims'
apartment in the Netherlands after taking a cocktail of drugs.

The two men, currently in a Dutch prison, insist they were not forced to
carry out the attack by anyone else and are solely responsible for the
torture, mutilation, and shooting of the men.

The bodies of brothers Vincent (29) and Morgan Costello (21) from Bansha,
Co Tipperary and their friend Damien Monahan (24) from Ennis were found in
an apartment in the Dutch resort of Scheveningen almost six weeks ago.

The Irish Independent understands that later today, Dutch authorities will
say publicly they believe the men's story, particularly their claim that
they did not murder the men on the orders of either an Irish or an
international drug lord.

``We believe they were involved in this dreadful crime,'' said a Dutch source.

``We are very sure the people we have in prison right now are the right
people, and we will not be seeking anybody else.''

The suspects are believed to have been acquaintances of the three Irishmen
and that on the night they killed them, they had taken Ecstasy,
amphetamines, alcohol and possibly other drugs.

The bodies were discovered after firemen responded to an alert at the
apartment in late April.

At first it was thought the trio had died in a domestic blaze before police
realised they had been shot and tortured before their remains were doused
in kerosene and set alight.
