CANNABIS DEBATE
Sir-I found the reply of David Round to your question (June 17), that
anyone under 50 years of age who has not tried dope is largely
ignorant of modern society, quite arrogant and offensive.
The association he made was illogical. Even if a majority of those
under 50 have indeed tried cannabis, there are many others who have
the intelligence and self-confidence not to have tried dope and never
to have wanted to. One does not have to experience something in order
to form a valid and sensible opinion of it.
Perhaps Mr Round meant to say "to admit that he has never used it is
to admit little understanding of the attitudes and behaviour that have
debased much modern social activity and culture"?
