SAY NO TO HEROIN
The Victorian community must decide whether it says Yes or No to
heroin use.
If we say No (as I believe), the community should rehabilitate
addicts.
More detoxification centres must be the urgent priority of government
and councils.
Police must keep the streets clean or dealers and stop addict crime.
Drug Courts must be introduced.
If we say Yes to heroin, injecting rooms are still the wrong
solution.
The scheme requires addicts to bring their own heroin. Street crime
and heroin dealing will be worse than it is now.
It will be concentrated in the streets around the injecting centre.
One hundred addicts attending an injecting room (with $100 a day
habits) must obtain $3.65 million a year by crime.
This money comes from you and I.
The community has had enough. It wants safe streets. It wants an end
to addicts' robberies, needle hold-ups, shoplifting, burglaries,
smashed car windows and addicts driving freely under the influence of
heroin.
The government must listen to the community.
We must say No to heroin.
