SOCIETY SAFER WITH SECURITY CAMERAS

After reading T. Downing's letter on surveillance and security
cameras, it made me wonder where that person really lives -- not on
this planet or Surrey for sure, but somewhere high above in the
clouds, perhaps on the moon.

All that talk about infringement of civil liberties and freedom
because it is very nice, tasty and good, but not harmonizing with
today's reality.

The whole world has become a dangerous place. Too many people are full
of hate and against each other and restless with evil. Moral standards
have become fewer, often lost through greed.

Because of it too many thieves are out there, also drugs and addicts,
who will do almost anything to feed their habit. Ask the victims how
they feel about it. Badness rules many minds and out the window is
respect for other people, their property and even lives. And it is
getting worse every year.

In my opinion it is better to live with less civil rights and
liberties, with stricter laws, surveillance cameras and sniffing dogs,
instead of being unsafe everywhere, especially in our own homes,
behind many locks, iron bars and alarms systems. Thanks to security
cameras last year, the London subway killers of 57 innocent people
were identified and arrested. Also, shortly after, the would-be
airlines terrorists. Therefore, "thank you" security cameras.

They not only protect people and save lives, but also save lots of
money too for the ever-growing justice system.
