ACT SHOOTING GALLERY TEST PUT OFF TO SAVE BUDGET
An impasse over the ACT Budget has been resolved, with an agreement
struck to postpone a heroin injecting-room trial until after the next
election.
The impasse had threatened to topple the Liberal minority
government.
Chief Minister Kate Carnell said that after talks with independent
MLAs who hold the balance of power in the ACT government, the $800,000
funding for the contentious project would now not be spent on the
heroin trial, allowing the Budget to pass.
