THE MAYOR AND MARY JANE II

To the Editor:

Mayor Gary Exner (Letters, July 18) seems anxious to place on the
record the fact that he does not approve of allowing Canadians the
freedom to ingest whatever substance they want, whether or not the
said substance has medical application.

So if I feel that eating, for example, pine needles will make me
healthier, the Mayor says he would call the police to arrest me if I
try to do that in Nelson without first consulting my doctor.

Methinks Gary Exner has revealed himself as an instinctive Big
Government worshipping fascist.
