STEROIDS REPORTEDLY FOUND IN ALEXANDER'S CAR
Boston Red Sox infielder Manny Alexander faces an investigation by the
commissioner's office after police found illegal steroids in his car.
Alexander loaned his car to the team's bat boy while the Red Sox were in
Chicago for a weekend series against the White Sox late last month. The bat
boy was stopped by Boston police and a search turned up vials and syringes
in the glove compartment June 30, the Boston Herald reported.
Alexander declined comment. Team spokesman Kevin Shea confirmed that
baseball's security office and local law enforcement officials were
investigating.
The bat boy, Carlos Cowart, has a criminal record that includes charges for
possessing cocaine and marijuana, the Herald reported.
