TELLING THE TRUTH

Re: "Police may face random testing," July 21 news story.

I fully support the position that the Denver Police Department should be
tested for drugs, randomly and regularly. Some other things they should be
tested for are: knowledge of and support of the U.S. Constitution, the Bill
of Rights, the power of the Supreme Court; and the internal rules and
regulations of the DPD.

It would serve this city very well if everyone, from the manager of safety
to the rookie patrolman, were tested on his or her belief on the importance
of telling the simple truth and the whole truth, always. I don't think
we've seen a lot of that recently.
