DEALING WITH DRUG DEALERS
Did Allen Richardson, a U.S. citizen, commit a crime on U.S. soil? Did
he get a fair trial? Did he flee the prison instead of finishing his
sentence?
The answers to all these questions is yes. It was his decision to
flee; he must now face the consequences. The sentence may seem harsh
now, but it was what he deserved 30 years ago when he sold LSD.
Why should he have special treatment? Is it simply because he fled his
country and stayed in Canada illegally for the last 30 years?
Moreover, why should our government allow him to return to Canada?
What kind of message are we sending to criminals in the U.S.? As long
as you can enter Canada illegally, stay here long enough and get the
media's sympathy, the law doesn't apply to you anymore.
