TORONTO COP FACES HOST OF CHARGES

By CP NEWMARKET, Ont. -- York police have charged a Toronto officer with
conspiracy to commit murder and attempted murder.

Police arrested the officer, who had been out on bail on other charges
since mid-April, Thursday night for allegedly breaching a condition of his
bail. Due to a publication ban, how he allegedly breached his bail cannot
be revealed. Details of the murder charges are also covered by the
publication ban.

A 10-year veteran of the police force, Const. Darin Cooper, 30, also faces
17 charges in connection with an alleged robbery gang accused of stealing
Ecstasy from drug dealers. He also faces charges of breach of trust for
allegedly using police information, along with a police gun, badge and
armour, in the alleged raids.
