I ALMOST MISSED IT
I almost missed it ... a small, inconspicuous article (A-6, 7/31). The
"Shadow Convention" was a media event that haunted the GOP stalwarts during
the convention. The "Shadow" forced three crucial issues into the
limelight, much to the embarrassment of the established platform:
1) The effect of big money on politics.
2) The war on drugs.
3) The gap between the rich and the poor.
Republican leaders warned members to avoid the "Shadow" events. The
"Shadow" sounds like my kind of people.
