BRAVO FOR STAND AGAINST USE OF DRUGS

ALLOW me to share my joy in knowing that the MCA leaders are taking a
sensible and logical stand against the use of drugs, especially the Ecstasy
pill.

Hopefully by making such a stand, the public is now more ready to face the
onslaught of this menace in our society.

On my recent trip to Melbourne, I was shocked to note that the Australian
government is implementing a scheme whereby the city and certain parts of
Victoria are to be allocated "injecting rooms'' for drug addicts to go for
their "fix'' without hassle or fear of the authority.

Surely commonsense dictates that such a scenario should never be allowed to
happen here.

Take a slow stroll along Bourke Street in Melbourne and you will definitely
see youngsters looking very dazed or rowdy after their "fix''.

I for one would like such evils banished from our society.
