FOLLOW CHINA'S LEAD ON DRUG POLICY?

I think Oscar Garner (July 30 letter, "Get tough on drug users") is onto
something.

We could follow China's example in dealing with our drug problem. Just
execute summarily all sellers. And if users will not rehabilitate, execute
them, too. Two strikes and you're out!

I had to have my Colombian drug fix first thing this morning. If they had
executed the coffee sellers back in the '40s, maybe I wouldn't be addicted.

And if by putting me in a treatment program I can't be weaned, just kill me
off, too!

No telling how much productivity is lost by all these coffee breaks. Once
we get the coffee problem cleaned up, we could go to work on tobacco, and
alcohol, and ...? Pretty soon we'll have a drug-free society. Maybe
people-free, too.

But what the heck? It works!
