DRUG DEALERS TOLD YOU AIN'T SEEN NOTHING YET
Drug Squad Officers Have Pledged To Continue Making The Lives Of
Dealers Difficult.
In July, 23 people were charged with drugs offences following
Operation Crackdown's series of dawn raids on addresses in Runcorn,
Widnes, Warrington and Liverpool.
Now police will be raiding more neighbourhoods in Halton to
continually disrupt the supply of heroin and crack cocaine in the borough.
Operation Crackdown was the largest drugs operation of its kind to be
carried out by the force to date and was the culmination of four and
a half months of intelligence gathering.
Halton Borough Council deputy leader and Halton Strategic
Partner-ship chairman Cllr Rob Polhill said: 'This was a highly
organised and efficient operation that saw a major blight on the
community removed at a stroke. Its holistic approach saw real
co-operation between many different agencies that will no doubt prove
useful in years to come.
'Everyone in the borough should be delighted with its success.'
Now police chiefs are warning dealers that the operation was just one
element in their clampdown.
Officers are working with staff from Ashley House and drug agencies
to make sure those who are arrested and prosecuted are given the
opportunity to get help for their addiction.
Det Chief Insp Martin Cleworth, Northern Area crime manager, said:
'Operation Crackdown has only been possible because of the support
from our communities who report dealing to us. I'd also like to take
this opportunity to thank our partner agencies, who continue to play
a key role in offering help and support to those neighbourhoods
affected by drugs.
Anyone with information about drugs can contact police on 0845
4580000 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
