NOT UNDER INFLUENCE OF CAPITALISM
A recent letter to the editor supporting our drug war is absurd. The writer
said, "The money for drug-promoting movies and drug-promoting music comes
from people who buy tickets and buy recordings. These are the people who
need more treatment."
Yep, I guess we'd better just lock down all those theater-going,
music-listening freaks.
Better yet, is the writer's failure to understand capitalism. He doesn't
believe that the government should have to pay media outlets for anti-drug
messages. "The media should run them persistently and often as a pure public
service," he states.
Sounds quite socialist for this great country.
