SILENT MAJORITY

Toronto -- I have a theory to explain the "surprising" lack of
response to William Johnson's columns recommending decriminalization
(letter -- Aug. 8). Perhaps most Globe readers -- and, dare I hope,
even most voters? -- have not bombarded the editorial staff with
letters because they see the wisdom and utility of legalizing
marijuana. Attorneys-general of the world, take note!
