HITLER WAS NO DRUG USER

Editor:

I find it hilarious how Mr. Russell Barth (to reduce the danger of
drugs, legalize them) managed to blame the current meth-related
problems on Adolf Hitler.

Kind of refreshing to see him and John F. Kennedy mentioned in the
same breath.

Seems to me that a man of Kennedy's stature would have access to much
better pain medication for his back problems than crystal meth, the
poor man's heroin.

You may call Hitler anything you like, but he was no drug
user.

Mr. Barth should check the source of his medical marijuana just like
the source of his historical knowledge. Seems to me that both were
"dusted" in the process.

But thank you anyway for finally providing the world with an
explanation for Hitler's crimes. After all, if Mr. Barth's theory is
true, by today's standards Hitler should be cleared of all charges due
to medical incompetence.

Just like Wayne Phillips (The Review helped to make crystal meth
sensational) I would also like to express my congratulations to The
Review for the courage of attacking our current social problems,
directly related to the poor man's heroin.

I don't have Mr. Phillip's ability of throwing fancy words around; I
only deal in common sense.

Being directly involved with a meth-user I appreciate anyone willing
to make the public aware of the dangers.

My generation thinks of drugs as the odd joint, but those days are
long gone.

Crystal meth will get you hooked for life after a single use. It is
not the users but the parents that need to be made aware of changes in
the behavioral patterns of their children.

Government sponsored programs will do just that.

Turning a blind eye to this problem like Mr. Wayne Phillips seems to
suggest will not make it go away.

I have also witnessed the frustration of police officers who are
risking their lives to bring those drug pushers to justice, only to
have them walk freely after a few months due to our way to lax justice
system.

Things will not change for the better until proper justice is served
and criminals are made to pay for crimes committed.

In Edmonton as an example, the petty crime rate seems to increase
every fall with absolutely no effort made to avoid arrest. Nice to
have a warm jail cell, three meals, cable vision and visitation rights
all winter long.

So much for crime prevention.
