HOPPED UP OVER ACTOR
Actor Dennis Hopper's scheduled appearance in a Calgary court on pot
possession charges has sparked the interest of a local advocate of medicinal
marijuana use.
Grant Krieger, who suffers from multiple sclerosis and advocates smoking pot
to alleviate pain, said he'll attend court Sept. 1 to support the film star.
Krieger said having such a high-profile player in town will only help his
bid to legalize pot.
"Here's another famous person who seems to think marijuana is much safer
than alcohol," he said.
Hopper, 63, who co-starred in the Hollywood classic Easy Rider, was
allegedly caught with a small amount of marijuana at the Calgary airport
last year when he was here to film Knockaround Guys.
Krieger, 46, will make his 30th court appearance next week relating to
marijuana.
