MUSKOGEE OFFICER KILLS MAN
MUSKOGEE -- A police officer responding to an emergency 911 call about
gunshots Saturday fatally shot a man, authorities said Sunday.
Eric McNac, 19, was shot by officer Gary Glover after disregarding
requests to show his hands, Muskogee Cpl. Reggi C. Cotton said in a
news release.
Cotton said McNac also made a threatening move between the car door and
seat, police said.
Glover fired once at McNac, police said. McNac was taken to a local
hospital where he later died, police said.
Police recovered more than $2,000 and more than 4 ounces of crack
cocaine from McNac's body, police said.
Glover was placed on routine leave until an investigation into the
shooting is completed, police said.
A 911 dispatcher received a call about 10:20 p.m. Saturday about shots
fired in the area of Ninth and Emporia streets in Muskogee, police
said.
The caller gave the dispatcher a description of a car suspected in the
shooting.
Officers arriving on the scene found four men in a car matching the
description given to police, officers said.
Ronnie McNac, the driver of the car, was arrested and charged on
complaints of carrying a concealed weapon, police said.
