OUTLETS TO POST NOTICES ON ECSTASY
KUALA LUMPUR: Entertainment outlets will be required to put up notices
warning customers on the dangers of Ecstasy pills, ousing and Local
Government Minister Datuk Seri Ong Ka Ting said.
He said the Cabinet had directed the ministry to beef up enforcement.
Local authorities, he said, would put up notices informing the public on
the penalty for trafficking and using such pills.
It would also inform them to report to the outlets operators if they were
approached to buy Ecstasy pills.
Ong said this was in response to owners from such outlets claiming that
they did not supply the pills but customers brought them instead.
"It is also the responsibility of these outlet owners to ensure that such
activities would not take place in their outlets,'' he said.
