WOMAN SEEKS EMBASSY AID TO SEE SICK FATHER

A Birmingham woman who cannot visit her sick father in the UK has pleaded
for help from the US Embassy

Deborah Areon lives in the US but cannot re-enter the country due to a 1976
conviction on cannabis charges.

She wants to visit her terminally ill farther and has enlisted the help of
local MP, Dr Lynne Jones.

The MP and a local doctor have written to the US Ambassador Philip Larder
to ask him to intervene in the case.
