NIXON ALLEGATIONS DENIED

Former close aides and friends of former president Richard Nixon deny he
medicated himself with a mood-altering drug, Dilantin, while in the White
House and also beat his wife when things went badly. The allegations are
contained in a new biography, "The Arrogance of Power: The Secret World of
Richard Nixon" by BBC journalist Anthony Summers. Former assistant Stephen
Bull says neither charge is true because he was with Nixon for 20 hours a
day from 1969 to 1973, the years he was president.
