DRUG TEST MONEY COULD BE SPENT ELSEWHERE
In regards to a mandatory program of random drug/alcohol testing of high
school athletes, I think it would also be appropriate that the school board
and senior staff participate in the program so they can get a real feel for
these kinds of programs. What's good for the goose should be good for the
gander. This is not made to be punitive, of course, but designed to have a
positive effect on the health of the total school population.
As an afterthought, instead of bankrolling drug/alcohol testing labs, it
would be nice to think that maybe money would be available to help parents
with students in sports pay for another requirement, the mandatory physical
exam or even uniforms and such.
