DRUG TESTING DOESN'T DETER DRUG USE

There has been no shortage of professional athletes arrested for drug
possession during the last 40 years. The river runs deep and the river runs
long when it comes to naming names.

Chemical witch hunts will not deter drug use. It will cheat sports and rob
many youths but it will not have the desired results of encouraging
involvement with sport. Over 50 percent of Americans are already certifiable
couch potatoes without the incentive of invasive persecutions. Why would
anybody want to encourage dropping out of sports in the name of hypocritical
moral righteous ideals?
