INJECTION CONJECTURE
David Marr informs me that I am dying slowly, my "drugs" of choice being
tobacco and alcohol, but urges me to oppose the Pope for his unsympathetic
view of Catholic involvement in so-called "safe injecting rooms" ("Vatican
fears scandal more than death", Herald, September 28).
I think not. Harm minimisation to me means deny them another gram of the
dreadful stuff and incarceration at the Queen's pleasure of those murderers
in the distribution chain. If that is too extreme for Marr, then at least
let us have the Sisters of Charity coming out to comfort the mugged and
other violated members of society who actually pay for the "life-saving"
medically supervised injections.
