FORGET CONGRESS, GO TO SUPREME COURT
I'm confused by the AJC's stance that "Congress has the sole authority
to repeal mandatory-minimum sentences for cocaine offenses . . ."
If the events of the last few weeks are any indication, all that needs
to be done is to petition the Supreme Court, a la Genarlow Wilson, and
convince a few justices that the disproportionate sentences constitute
"cruel and unusual punishment". Why inconvenience ourselves fooling
around with the legislative body actually charged with enacting law?
