WE DID NOT SMOKE POT IN SIXTIES

JUST how far do our MPs have to go to prove that they are somehow in touch
with the people.

The recent revelations by MPs from all parties that they took drugs in the
past included Norwich North MP Ian Gibson who, according to your report on
Wednesday, October11, stated: "Anyone who came through the 60s and said
they didn't smoke cannabis is not telling the truth." What a generalisation!

well Dr Gibson, I went to university in the Sixties and, together with the
majority of my colleagues, did not smoke, sniff, swallow or inject any type
of drug.

Maybe that admission does nothing for my street cred, but I am not in the
position of needing the glamour of drugs usage against my name.

Why do I feel that we would be so much better if our politicians were like
those Victorian children - seen but not heard?
