HOLY SMOKES! WHAT WOULD DIEF THINK?

OTTAWA - The historic Diefenbunker could soon become the Reeferbunker -
Canada's biggest hydroponic marijuana laboratory.

The bunker, now a museum, was built in Carp, Ont., by former prime minister
John Diefenbaker to shelter his government from a nuclear war. Part of it
is now being considered as a growing, storage and research factory for the
nation's medical marijuana supply.

Health Canada is offering a five-year, $5-million contract to a supplier of
high -quality cannabis for peopole who have Ottawa's OK to smoke the drug
for medical reasons. Alberta businessman Loren Wiberg is one of five people
shortlisted for the contract and he's contacted Diefenbunker president Dr.
Barry Bruce, who admits being "intrigued" by the idea. Wiberg says the
Diefenbunker would certainly "keep the bad guys out".
