I HAVE read with interest the different views as to the use of
cannabis resin and the reasons why people indulge.
A few years ago my beloved wife became ill and was in some
considerable pain. Sleep for her at night was a rare treat.
Then one evening my eldest son come to see his mother and after a
while he asked if he could have a smoke!
My wife said he could, so he made a joint (my wife then was in such a
state of mind that almost anything could be done). After a little time
had passed I asked her if she would like a puff; "Not blooming
likely," she said. After a little pressure and assurance that it might
help her with the discomfort and sleepless nights, she had a puff or
two. "What's supposed to happen now," she asked. "Not a lot," we told
her. She would feel light-headed and couldn't care less about anything.
We then made a stronger smoker and we, my son, myself, and my wife
smoked the joint.
The next morning my wife told me that she had had the best night's
sleep for a hell of a long time. This made me very happy, so from then
on in the evening we would both indulge. Druggies? I hardly think so,
when my tortured wife did have a good night's sleep after having a
little smoke of one of nature's plants.
When I told the doctor what we were doing to ease my wife's suffering
and getting her some sleep he told me: "Put it in cakes.
It will do less harm than the tobacco you are inhaling in the joints".
He also admitted to me that he indulged.
When my wife passed away, after 36 years of married life, I was
devastated. I got stoned nearly every evening for about a fortnight.
Then I realised that this was not the way to go.
So I stopped and concentrated on a home study course to read and
learn, in those lonely evenings at home.
