FEINSTEIN GETS OUR VOTE
Sen. Dianne Feinstein, the San Francisco Democrat, is our choice in
Tuesday's race for U.S. Senate.
She has served the state well in her past six-year term. Feinstein has had
the backing of law enforcement groups for her anti-crime efforts and paying
attention to the needs of police and sheriff's departments. She recently
made points for supporting the assignment of Drug Enforcement
Administration agents in Redding.
These agents will help crack down on the methamphetamine trade, a problem
that has reached epidemic proportions in the north state. She has a better
understanding of the drug problem than most politicians after having
authored the Comprehensive Methamphetamine Control Act of 1996.
Feinstein, along with Rep. Wally Herger, did an admirable job in their
support of the Quincy Library Group. This effort brought local
environmentalists and timber representatives together for a plan to manage
parts of the Lassen, Plumas and Tahoe national forests.
We support Feinstein in her bid for re-election.
