The logic of Jelani Lawson's Forum column concerning drug treatment in
lieu of incarceration for nonviolent drug offenders should be
convincing to all.
Just look at Robert Downey Jr. The man needs help, clearly. He is
probably a self-absorbed, spoiled, arrogant, megalomaniac. However, I
would rather have him coughing up thousands in tax dollars then to
have me pay $30,000 a year so he can eat baloney sandwiches.
Besides, putting him in jail did not solve the problem
before.
