POLICE SEARCH HOME AFTER PETROL BOMB ATTACK

POLICE searched the home of anti-drugs campaigner Shane Ragno
yesterday as part of their probe into claims a petrol bomb was thrown
at his Ocean Reef home on Wednesday.

Joondalup detectives and forensic officers went to the Southern Cross
Circle home about 9am.

It is believed they were looking for evidence which would clear Mr
Ragno and his family of involvement in the firebombing. Mr Ragno's
son, Shane jun., died of a heroin overdose in 1999 and the family has
since organised public meetings in a bid to fight drug dealers.

Mr Ragno said the raid was part of a campaign to stop him revealing
the truth. He knew who might have been responsible for throwing the
fire bomb but he refused to divulge the person's name.

Officers spent more than two hours searching the house and seized
several items. Joondalup district Insp. Bob Colton watched the raid
to make sure all police procedures were followed.

At a public meeting organised by the Ragno family on Wednesday night,
Mr Ragno presented Police Minister Kevin Prince with a list of
alleged assaults on himself and his property that he claimed had
happened since he began dobbing in drug dealers to police.

He said police had refused to take action over most complaints.
