WHY ARE WE SO WORRIED ABOUT HEMP?

Dear Editor,

Why are our law enforcement agencies so worried about industrial hemp?

Our Canadian neighbors to the north are having no trouble distinguishing
hemp from marijuana. Are we too proud to ask them how they are managing
this "non-issue"? Are the Canadians really that more intelligent than we are?

Maybe law-enforcement is worried about losing funding from D.C., which
certainly has its own agenda, such as taking money form pharmaceutical,
petrochemical and timber interests.

Was is Franklin or Jefferson who said, "Should we wait for direction from
Washington, D.C., when to reap and when to sow, we should surely soon want
bread."
