SUSPICIOUS TIMING
Am I the only one who finds the "meth bust" in Merced County on Jan. 9 (the
one where the three suspects escaped) a tad serendipitous for the federal,
state and local officials meeting in Fresno on the same day? The same
people who were discussing the need for action against meth?
Horror stories abound about meth that prove the drug is a vile environment-
and life-killing drug. But to have a "major" bust occur while a number of
people are in town wishing for that evil drug's demise seems just a bit too
maudlin.
