DRUG LEGALITY GROUP TO USE 'TRAFFIC' CLIPS
A New York-based foundation that proposes legalizing drugs to halt "the
current criminal drug market" has launched a Web site using images from the
Oscar-nominated movie "Traffic."
The organization, which says it has permission from USA Films to use the
images on StopTheWar.com, features a game in which users fight a war on
drugs, only to find that conventional strategies fail.
"Millions of people who have seen the movie 'Traffic' are suddenly
questioning the futility and destructiveness of our nation's drug war,"
said Ethan Nadelmann, director of the Lindesmith Center-Drug Policy
Foundation. "The movie got people stirred up and got them thinking; we hope
to inspire them to get involved."
