B.C. PUSHES DRUG COURTS

B.C. Attorney General Graeme Bowbrick heads to Ottawa today - and
hopes to come back with money in his pocket.

One of Bowbrick's main goals in meetings with Justice Minister Anne
McLellan and Solicitor General Lawrence McAuley is to obtain a
commitment for federal money to help fund a pilot drug court and
treatment program for Vancouver.

He hopes to persuade Ottawa to provide the same support of the pilot
drug court project as it has been doing for Toronto for more than two
years.
