KIDS GET EDUCATED, THANKS TO GOVERNMENT

The province last month unveiled a $3 million crystal meth education
program to be delivered in schools.

"One person using crystal meth is one person too many. And the best
way to stop someone from using it is to keep them from ever
starting," Education Minister Shirley Bond said.

Research shows that five per cent of students in grades 7-12 have
tried crystal meth. That's why educating our youth is so important, she said.

The campaign will include classroom lessons, teacher resources, a
parents' guide on how to talk to kids about drugs and a website at
www.no2meth.ca, which features interactive games and activities,
information on the effects and dangers of crystal meth and how to
help a child or friend who uses it.
