1,000 POUNDS OF POT FOUND

Thursday, May 17, 2001 - Four people were arrested after police confiscated
a large quantity of marijuana and cocaine from an Adams County home Tuesday.

The identities of the three men and a woman weren't released Wednesday.

Investigators found more than 1,000 pounds of marijuana and 1.5 pounds of
cocaine in the home, said Denver police spokeswoman Virginia Lopez.

The drug seizures were a part of an ongoing undercover investigation by
Denver police Vice/Drug Control Bureau, the North Metro Drug Task Force,
the Front Range Task Force and the Drug Enforcement Administration.

Denver police made a traffic stop at West 29th Avenue and Xenon Street.
Information they received from two men in the car led investigators to the
Adams County residence.

Officers searched the home and found the drugs in a crawl space accessible
through a removable panel in a closet, Lopez said. A man and a woman at the
house were arrested, as were the two men stopped in the car, she said.

Police also confiscated $6,000 in cash and two vehicles.
