ARRAIGNMENT SET FOR STIBBE TODAY

Grafton man will stand trial on three additional counts of
first-degree homicide

PORT WASHINGTON - The 24-year-old Grafton man, who was sentenced this
past fall for supplying the heroin that killed a Cedarburg teenager a
year ago, will stand trial on three additional counts of first-degree homicide.

Ozaukee County Circuit Court Judge Joseph D. McCormack sentenced
Benjamin R. Stibbe in September for providing a fatal dose of heroin
to Angela Raettig, a 17-year-old Cedarburg teenager, who was found
dead by her mother on Nov. 30.

For Raettig's death, McCormack sentenced Stibbe to 18 years in prison
and 15 years of extended supervision. advertisement

Stibbe will be arraigned at 1:15 p.m. today in Ozaukee County Circuit
Court. He is accused of providing the fatal doses of heroin that
killed Lynn Smaxwill, 43, in December 2002; and Matthew Kobiske, 21
and James Helm, 47, both of whom died in October 2005. The three were
from Grafton.

Stibbe was also charged in federal court where he is accused of
taking part in an interstate heroin traffic ring with his mother,
Teri Stibbe, 49 and 11 other individuals.

The heroin supply route that began in Chicago, filtered through
Milwaukee and landed in Ozaukee County with help from Stibbe.

According to the federal criminal complaint: Between 2002 and now,
Timothy Milton of Milwaukee bought about 100 grams of heroin for
$20,000 about two to three times a week. Milton then brought the
heroin to Milwaukee, where it was broken into smaller $20 bags and
sold through a distribution network on Milwaukee's north side. One of
the dealers to which Milton sold was Stibbe, who in turn sold to
users in Ozaukee County.

Also named in the complaint was Jonathon Selensky, 19, of Saukville,
who was with Stibbe and Kobiske the night Kobiske died. Selensky is
facing a felony charge of possession of narcotic drugs in Ozaukee
County Circuit Court.

According to the state circuit court Web site, Selensky has had
previous misdemeanor convictions from 2004 for obtaining prescription
drugs with fraud, possession of THC and possession of amphetamines,
LSD and psilocin.

Teri Stibbe was found guilty earlier this year of misdemeanor retail theft.

If convicted of the charges in the federal criminal complaint, each
defendant faces a mandatory minimum 20 years in prison. Eight of the
defendants - all from Milwaukee - face mandatory life sentences
without parole because they have prior convictions for drug trafficking.
