FALSE WALLS DIDN'T FOOL DRUG COPS
False bookshelves, secret passageways and disguised doors temporarily
baffled Mounties when they searched for drugs at a Burnaby auto body shop
this week.
The RCMP arrested seven suspects and seized weapons, cash, cocaine and
heroin in a raid on the body shop in the 6800-block of Palm Avenue.
The seven are believed to have been running a drug delivery service,
supplying customers in Burnaby and New Westminster. "It was a sophisticated
operation with surveillance cameras and hidden rooms," Burnaby RCMP Const.
Phil Reid said yesterday. "There were false bookshelves and false walls.
Eventually, we found the drugs in the plumbing."
