2 HELD AFTER SUSPECTED METH LAB DISCOVERED
A North Hollywood couple were in custody Saturday after Ventura County
sheriff's deputies discovered cold medicine that can be used to make
methamphetamine in their car and then followed them to a homemade drug
lab, authorities said.
Joel Alexander King, 27, and Olivia Nann Ogier, 22, were being held at
Ventura County Jail in lieu of $50,000 bail each after their arrests
on drug possession and manufacturing charges Friday night, Sgt. Bob
Garcia said.
Deputies spotted cold tablets containing ephedrine, which is commonly
used in the manufacture of methamphetamine, when the pair were
involved in a minor traffic accident last week in Ojai, Garcia said.
Narcotics deputies followed the couple to various areas in Ventura and
Los Angeles counties before raiding their North Hollywood home, Garcia
said.
