COLLEGE PARK MAN HELD IN STING

Federal drug agents recently pulled off the largest "reverse sting" in
Atlanta history, arresting a College Park man with $2.1 million in cash and
who allegedly planned to buy more than 200 pounds of cocaine. In reverse
stings, Drug Enforcement Administration agents pose as drug dealers and
arrest people willing to buy narcotics for further sales. On Friday, DEA
agents arrested Byron Sylvester Pitts, 33, at a condominium on Pine Cone
Trail in College Park, John J. Andrejko, Atlanta's DEA special agent in
charge, said. Inside Pitts' Cadillac Escalade SUV, agents found $2.1
million in cash, which was seized, Andrejko said. They also seized from
Pitts a .40-caliber handgun equipped with a laser sight, the agent said.
Pitts was charged with conspiracy to distribute cocaine and firearms possession.
