WOMAN CONVICTED IN POT-LACED BROWNIE CASE

ELKHART, Ind. (AP) -- A woman convicted of sending marijuana-laced brownies
that sickened 11 city firefighters has been sentenced to four years in
prison and ordered to pay $11,000 in fines.

But Susanna K. Cole maintained her innocence at her sentencing Thursday in
Elkhart Circuit Court.

A jury last month convicted Cole of two counts of battery against a
firefighter and two counts of criminal recklessness.

She was charged with arranging to have someone deliver the drug-laced
dessert Dec. 23.

Of the 11 firefighters who became ill, two were hospitalized. Firetrucks
and ambulances were taken out of service until the station could be fully
staffed again.
