UNDERCOVER STING CRACKS DRUG RING
SMYRNA - Twelve people, including eight high school students, have been
arrested on drug charges after a three-month investigation by Smyrna
police, authorities said.
Detectives began a series of undercover drug buys beginning in September,
Smyrna Police Sgt. Ken Hampton said. They gathered enough evidence,
including various amounts of cocaine, Ecstasy, Valium and marijuana, to
receive sealed felony indictments against 14 people, all of whom are from
Smyrna. Two suspects - one juvenile and one adult - are still at-large.
Six of the suspects are juveniles, and the police are not releasing their
names. Two of the high school students - Jordan Wills and Jason Worley -
are adults. The others who have been arrested include Angela Potts, Matthew
Humphrey, Timothy Newman, Lindsay Chris Warner and Shawn Delonais.
"The detectives said they could have gotten whatever they wanted and
however much they wanted," Hampton said. "That's what's so scary with some
of these kids being in high school."
None of the drug transactions took place at school, he said.
