SLAIN PRENTISS POLICE OFFICER EXEMPLIFIED COURAGE, BRAVERY
We were reminded again this week just how dangerous police work is -
and how much we owe the men and women who serve us in this capacity.
Prentiss police officer Ronald Jones, 29, was killed on Wednesday
during a drug raid on Mary Street in Prentiss.
"There are people who are always so critical of law enforcement," said
Prentiss Mayor Charley Dumas. "I wonder how many of them would put on
a badge and do what they do for what they make?"
Our law enforcement officers are indeed a brave lot. Few people have
the courage, in Dumas' words, "to put on a badge and do what they do."
Officer Jones did.
