BOOK STORE STAFFERS TO FACE CHARGES OF DRUG TRAFFICKING
The Victoria Police Department is seeking drug trafficking charges
against three people following a Thursday search of Ted's Books at
826 Johnson St.
Police went to the store after receiving a complaint that marijuana
was being displayed in plain view, Sgt. Darren Laur said in a news
release. A staff member was cutting up marijuana when police arrived,
Laur said.
The store owner made himself known to police and consented to a
search of the premises, Laur said. Marijuana, marijuana byproducts
and documentation were seized.
"Although the owner of Ted's Books stated to police that he sells the
marijuana seized for medicinal purposes, his business is not licensed
by the federal government to carry out such transactions."
