SECONDARY SCHOOLS GET OK TO USE DRUG-DETECTION DOGS
ZIONSVILLE -- Lockers and parking lots at Zionsville secondary schools now
are subject to inspection by drug-sniffing dogs.
Monday, the Zionsville School Board voted 5-0 to allow administrators to
let the canines into the school buildings.
The searches will be conducted randomly, and when the schools are on what
is referred to as "lock-down," a time when students are inside classrooms.
The dogs will be taken to lockers in Zionsville High School and the middle
schools and into parking lots at the high school and the system's Education
Services Center.
Dogs will not be used to search students, said Superintendent Howard Hull Jr.
