U.S. REPORT RAISES ALARM OVER CANADIAN ECSTASY
WASHINGTON - Asian drug traffickers based in Canada have gained
control over most of the ecstasy distribution in the United States and
expanded their reach, said an American drug report released yesterday.
The National Drug Threat Assessment by the U.S. Justice Department
also said the production of high-potency marijuana in Canada is a
problem, although marijuana use has declined slightly.
The strength of seized marijuana samples has more than doubled from
2000 through 2005, says the drug threat report, which is published
annually.
